How to Make Mashed Potatoes from Scratch
*Grab 7 or however many potatoes you want.
*In a large bowl wash all your potatoes in warm water and drain the potatoes.
*Dry your potatoes with paper towels or a clean towel.
*Peel all your potatoes. Skip this step if you like to leave the potato skins.
*After peeling all the potatoes slice all the potatoes in a medium cubes.
*Grab a large pot and place all your sliced potatoes in the large pot.
*Add water to the pot filled with potatoes. Only add enough water to cover the potatoes.
*Simmer your potatoes with a lid on the pot for approximately 25 minutes. If your potatoes do not look and feel tender enough you may need to simmer your potatoes longer.
*Grab a pan and add a tablespoon of butter on the pan and melt the butter.
*Once the butter has been melted add 1 teaspoon of minced garlic and sauté’ the garlic until they are golden brown.
*Once the garlic has turned golden brown place all the tender potatoes into the pan and sauté the potatoes with the garlic.
*Add any spices you like to your potatoes. I added oregano, dried chives, basil and some seasoning salt. I got all these ingredients from my spice rack.
*After sautéing the spices, garlic and potatoes together they are ready to be placed in a large bowl for mashing.
*Add ½ cup of milk, soymilk or heavy cream to the potatoes.
*Mash your potatoes.
*Once your potatoes have been mashed you are ready to enjoy your mashed potatoes however you like!
I love mashed potatoes with sour cream and chives or with delicious turkey gravy and chives.

Yummy! I've been looking for mashed potatoes recipe and a tutorial on how to do it and I found this post. I remember my Grandmother who has a food business in Calgary. Marketing campaigns that are designed to entice loyal clients are her secrets in making the business grow. In most cases, effective marketing plans (Calgary area) foodies like to try out with are also essential. I'm so inspired with this post, April! Thanks for sharing this with us!
